Youth Club every Friday at the Village Hall Station Road 7pm to 9pm during term time only.

APRIL 2024

Great British Spring Clean. Saturday 27 April 2024, Village Litter Pick in Hopton.  Meeting 10am Recreation Ground to collect rubbish sacks and borrow litter picks (or bring your own).  Everyone welcome. Children must be supervised.  KEEP  HOPTON  TIDY. 

JUNE 2024

D. Day Celebration. Details to follow.  Organised by the Parish Council.

Saturday 15 June. Party in the Park at the Recreation Ground.

9 December 2023. Carols around the Ruins with mini Christmas market.

Saturday 19 August 2023. 10am to 4pm. Skateboarding BMX Scooter event at the Skateboard Park, Recreation Ground. FREE to attend and take part. Professional demonstrations, competitions, prizes to be won.

10 December Christmas Carols around the Ruins with mini Christmas market stalls and a special visitor, at the Millennium Garden. Free event,.

Hopton in Lights - decorate your garden/front of house. 

OCTOBER 2022

Sunday 2 October, Harvest Festival at St. Margaret's Church followed by lunch of soup and pud.

Pumpkin Carving competition throughout the village. See Hopton Residents Facebook page - residents only.

SEPTEMBER 2022

Saturday 10 September, 9am to 5pm. Norfolk & Suffolk Churches Trust Ride and Stride, fundraising event. 

Saturday 24 September, 10am Pavilion Building Lowestoft Road for a community village litter pick.  Equipment provided.  All welcome. 

Sunday 25 September, 2.30pm to of ramp Beach Road for a Hopton community Beach litter pick. Equipment provided.  All welcome. 

Saturday 10 and Saturday 24 September, Craft Fayre at St. Margaret's Church, 10am to 2pm,

Friday 30 September, Chorus of St. Cecilia at St. Margaret's Church.

AUGUST 2022

Saturday 20 August, Skateboarding, BMX, Scooter Community Event at the Recreation Ground skate park. Full day of workshops, learning, competitions, plenty of prizes to be won. FREE event.  Organised by King Ramps in association with the Parish Council.

Saturday 13 August and Saturday 27 August, Craft Fayre at St. Margaret's Church, 10am to 2pm.

New Housing Developments

There are currently two new housing developments taking place in the village. 

The first development to the north of Lowestoft Road are all bungalows. 

The second is a large development of 200 homes to the south of Lowestoft Road, known as Bowlers Green. The developers are Lovell Homes, the building arm of Norfolk County Council. The area consists of a mixture of 4, 3, 2 bedroom houses and bungalows to purchase, some shared ownership homes, with some social housing incorporated in the development.  The marketing office on the site is now open, along with show homes.

Mobile Library operated by Norfolk County Council visits Hopton at the following locations/dates:

There is also a free book exchange at the Village Hall.

The Honesty Book Exchange in the Village Hall is very popular with books being exchanged daily. Bring in a paperback you have read, browse the books on the trolley, and exchange your book for another one.  This is a community initiative at no cost. The Village Hall is open daily.
